Title: aMule 1.2.3 problems
Post by: HaMBoNE on January 09, 2004, 08:36:40 AM
I have been trying for the past 4 hours to get aMule up and running, but so far I have been unsuccessful. I am running Red Hat 9 and after buildilng aMule from source I receive the following error:

Code: [Select]
amule: relocation error: amule: symbol _ZTI8wxObject, version WXGTK_2.4 not defined in file libwx_gtk-2.4.so with link time reference
I have tried building aMule against the wxGTK/wxBase rpms and source builds, but I always get that same error. I'm pretty sure that I am doing everything correct because I followed these (http://web478.server7.webplus24.de/amule/thread.php?threadid=272&sid=) instructions.

I have also tried installing the aMule 1.2.1 rpm, but I still have the same problem. The thing that really annoys me is that I was able to build everything from source on Gentoo Linux 1.4 without a single problem.

Anyone have any idea how to fix this?

arg...I found the problem. It seems I had some older wxGTK libs laying around in /usr/local
