Kry, will you now start to work on Kademlia support as you promised ? Can't wait to see Kad support!
Thanks!
-
I can promise you that he won't start now...
...because there has been some Kad code in amule for quite a long time now and the "real" import that was promised "after 2.0" has already started. But don't expect a Kad version next week as this isn't done that easily and will need some testing after it is done...
-
Great! Thanks. I am really happy to hear that!
-
I think I'll not do Kad.... next request and I'll stop it :P
-
Is Kad actually improving download speeds in *mule? I mean: I've noticed that on Win2k with eMule installed downloads are very fast, while on Linux with aMule it doesn't work like that.
Thanks...
-
Kad only improves a little the sped to get the sources, not the downloads themselves.
Regards.
-
BonnyFused you have the same credit file on win taht you have on linux?
since other then that, I cannot think there is only difference between emule and amule, since I get same speed with both of them :]
and like skolnick said, kad only helps for sources and a little for dl, since now you can have 1source twice
the same from Kad and teh same over ed2k which might speed it a little but not very much

Well, I actually have LESS credits on Windows than on Linux, since aMule is running since almost one year, while eMule is running since few months...
I bet KAD helps with sources, therefore I get more download "spots" and thus the overall speed gets improved...
Still waiting for KAD support on aMule, tough...
-
BonnyFused,
Try playing a little with max. sources per file/max. connections, the optimal settings in one mule is not necessarilly the same as in the other mule.
Cheers!

How can you have the same source twice?? shouldn't the ed2k client check the userhash of the source before adding it to the sources list? I think emule does that, so is not possible to have the same source added via different methods (passive, ed2k, kad, etc...)
Regards.

hi
A friend of me will make a I2P emule client.
But emule is only for windows!
and then is amule bether can use on other platforms too!
But at the moment cant amule Kademlia!
we need changes in kademlia, to work over I2P i dont know if will work on linux!
then must wait when is a amule with kad is avaible!
-
?( yup,
whatever that ment....
-
I2P won't work, it has been discussed plenty of times on eMule development forums...tell your friend to spend time on ANOTHER network ;)
-
a gnutella client is modified for working over I2P, is i2phex!
why not work?, when nothing do with code then cant be work !
we will test if can communicate emule or amule over I2P!
it must speak with base64 destination code and must run over local proxy
like 127.0.0.1:7654 with I2P router.
we will test it with kademlia!
but amule dont have kademlia! many I2P users are linux users!
then was bether modify amule!
