Title: Customize amule over Linux Fedora Core 3
Post by: moloweb on June 27, 2005, 06:42:04 AM
Hello Friends,

I want to customize some things about the interface of amule in Linux Fedora Core 3. I want to know what tools use to do this, what libraries and how to do that, because i'm new on Linux, but i want to implement amule in my LAN with some customizations and translations to spanish (Latin America).

 :baby:

Regards,

Venezuela.

question is what do you want to customize?

shared files foldrs, connection limits, language ect...

or what excatly did you want to customize?

so you wnat to change the looks of the buttons? basically like skins?

if yes, then this is not yet possible

the only way you can adjust the looks of amule is using a gtk-theme switcher depending on if you have wxGTK compiled against gtk1 or gtk2. but this will only change the fonts, the gui-color and thats about it

well first of all you have to find out if you use gtk1 or gtk2

try to run amule again from console and see what commes up it it sais when you type:
$amule --verion

if it said --> using wxGTK2
you have gtk2
if it said --> using wxGTK1
you have gtk1

now go to your FC3 yum repro and search for a gtk1 or 2 theme switcher, if you cannot find one try google....
download and install it. if you start it you can select some themes and fonts ect.
when everything is set, restart your amule and it should have this new theme.
btw also all other gtk1 or gtk2 apps will have that new theme then, NOT only amule....
