I'm running Linux 98% of time, and use aMule for P2P. The past two days I was forced to run Windows :-( and used emule-plus insteed. And was sad to see that it was emencely faster when amule, on the same files, on the same server and with the same settings in connection.
Settings are:
Upload : 12kb/s
Download : 57kb/s
Max sources : 500 (amule's guide said this)
Max connections : 400
Max connections i 5secs: 20
Can there be such a big difference between emule-plus under windows, and aMule under linux? Or is there some different settings I should use under linux? Or would Linux kernel 2.6.1 be faster?
aMule is CVS from saturday the 10th january, but speed is the same with all stable versions I've tried. wxGTK-2.4.2 self-compiled, zlib v.1.2.1 (and amule is linket against zlib) and OS: SuSE 9.0 ftp-edition, soon to be replaced with Slackware or something.
My connection is a "256/64 cable connection"
