Title: Takeover button?
Post by: thedogsbollock on August 20, 2005, 08:27:45 AM
Please forgive me if it's already been asked and answered but I was wondering what the "Takeover" button does in the "Show file details" window. Would be most grateful to anyone who takes the trouble to get back to me if you'd bear in mind that I'm a relative technological nincompoop (who's somewhat amazed I managed to get Amule up and running in the first place) and so it would probably be best if you'd imagine you were speaking to a six year old  ?(

Above the button is a list of filenames, that exist for this file. If you want to use the name of one of the list, mark (click at) the one you want, click at takeover to replace the name in the edit-box with the one at the list and then click at rename to change the filename.

forgive me if it's a liberty asking, after you kindly took the trouble to reply to my last query, but I wondered if I could impose on you again

I am running aMule 2.0 on my Apple iBook (OS X 10.4.2) - I tried the CVS version out of interest but it appears to quit immediately when I start-up - and I have adjusted the preferences in an effort to run the webserver.

When using MLDonkey previously, I found it easier operating it from within my browser (Safari), so I thought I'd try the same with aMule,  but I believe I've adjusted the preferences as per the instructions and no matter whether I try with Safari or IE,  I cannot seem to load the page http://localhost:4711/ (or 4712)

Any advice would be most appreciated, but please bear in mind that it would be best to make like you are advising an eight year old, as otherwise I am likely to struggle to understand

With my utmost thanks in advance for any assistance you can lend
Big Love
Bernard
