Title: Downloaded file has disappeared

For the first time ever, a file shown on the top of the main DownloadWindow of aMule as downloaded is not to be found in the aMule Download Folder. I am quite concerned about it since I fear it could have been a kind of trojan or other malware which now has introduced somewhere in my computer (iMac 27 running Sierra).
Has anyone have this same experience? And, how could I check or something dangerously wrong is now in my OS?
Obviously, any information regarding the questions will be greatly welcomed.
