Title: Show filename when status is "Asked for another file" in File Name column
Post by: i23098 on August 30, 2005, 03:22:57 AM
The filename of the other file being asked when status is "Asked for another file" should be shown (in parentises after the nick, for example).

Sometimes this is very important as I have files with many sources and files with just a couple of sources, and if it is a file with many sources I may wan't to use it in another file, if it has few sources I wan't to keep it there...

Note the difference between "show" and "control". I don't think it's feasible to control which source is asked for which file. I can't see someone sorting out 500 sources ...

I'm sorry, but I didn't understand what you wanted to say exactly  :(

When showing the sources of a given file, aMule shows in status "Asked for another file". This means aMule somehow knows that the given source is being used in another file... What is the difference for knowing that the given source is being used in "a known name" file?

I made this request, because the windows client I used (koizo -> emule plus based client) has this feature...

That's already displayed.

To be slightly more helpful than Kry ;), it's displayed in the Status column, which is almost always far too narrow to reveal it.

:] Ok, it was too small and I thought "Asked for another file" was the full String... Forgive me  :baby:

But this request is not over yet  :P I believe the best place to show the other filename is in the file name column, in parentises after the user. Why? Better space management. The file name column is already wide enough too show the file names (or almost all the name) and  the status column should very small to show just "In Queue", etc.

By putting the information in the filename you have a better GUI  :)

So this request is now [Show filename when status is "Asked for another file" in the File Name column]

Although it may not make sense to manually sort 500 sources, I've found myself, time and again, shuffling some A4AF sources around. In fact, this is one of the reason why I prefer, say, the MorphXT mod over the standard eMule in Windows: it still gives you the option to shuffle A4AF sources. I would like aMule to keep this feature.
