Ctrl-Click at the file to open the context menu and select cancel.
It's not the usual mac way.

Title: 2.0.3 launch failure
Post by: DLH on October 25, 2005, 05:54:19 PM
I just tried upgrading to 2.0.3, but it won't start; when launched from console I get the following error:

/usr/bin/amule: relocation error: /usr/bin/amule: symbol wxEVT_SCROLL_CHANGED, version WX_2.6 not defined in file libwx_gtk2_core-2.6.so.0 with link time reference

well you probably dont have wxGTK-2.6 installed ....

if you upgrade something you also have to upgrade the libs,

what system are you on? check our download section there are for "most" systems the amule-pkg AND the wxGTK-pkg

I'm running Mandrake 10.1; according to  rpmdrake I have  wxGTK2.6 (2.6.0-3.1.101plf)

A little Hint: Please add your Distro to your profile, this makes everything easier.
But if I read  libwx_gtk2_core-2.6.so.0 I see the possibility, that your wxGTK is not compiled against GTK2 but against GTK1.
I think it would be the best to compile aMule on your system.

I never compiled it and I'm not about to. I used provided RPM.

well then use the RIGHT rpms which belong to each other....

search teh forum for wardevil, he provides mandrive rpms for BOTH wxGTK and aMule, they work with each other...

Hmm, I found some rpms after poking around the forums. How come they're not on the main download page ? They've got SuSE rpms; MDK support used to be very good here X(
Anyways,  I'll play with those rpms and see what happens. What I do remember is that that 2.0.0rc8 rpm asked about the appropriate wxGTK to be installed as a dependency. When I installed 2.0.3, no such thing happened. ?(

because you already had some wxGTK, and maybe when you installed rc8 you did not have any...

about the mdk support, this is due to the fact taht teh guy from teh dev team who made those mdk rpms, left us some time ago, and since then we dont offically have mdk rpms anymore.
teh wardevil once are teh "unoffical" once, but tehy have been shown to work very good, just also dl his wxGTK rpms and his amule version

Thanks for the update
I have 3 different rpms. I'll try the one with the latest build:
aMule-2.0.3-3_mdk10.1.i586.rpm
wxGTK-2.6.0-1_mdk10.1.i586.rpm
The links to those rpms shoud be included in a sticky thread on the linux forum to avoid chaos

Those are ed2k links=for upgraders only. I don't see wxGTK in there either.
I uphold my original point and thou hath not smitten me.  8)

As it stands I can't run 2.0.3. I tried installing the various rpms I found, but I was defeated by dependencies on all but one of them and that keeps producing the same error I mentioned earlier. Thanks to all who tried to help.:(
