Title: [PROBLEM] Insert new Links with no sources
Post by: WorldWeirdWeb on November 02, 2005, 12:02:17 AM
Hi @ll,
first of all: Thanks for the good work on aMule! :-) I really enjoy it.
But: I guess I found a minor bug in aMule and reported it to a friend. He begged me to report it here to maybe help develop aMule.
I am running Mac OSX 10.4.2 actual and aMule 2.0.3.
The bug:
Every time I add a new file (link) to aMule it keeps standing "red" with no sources found in the list  ;(
This happens to all new addings (entrances)  :] And of course the new files all have a lot of full sources when I start it.
I have to reconnect manually to a server and THEN aMule is able to find sources.

Reconnecting is a workaround and it won't cost me much time to do so bit I guess the normal way should bei that aMule is able to find the sources itself when I start a new download.  That's why I report it ...
BFN,
WWW

Thanks for your report. This phenomenon is actually a known issue in amule 2.0.3 (see this thread (http://forum.amule.org/thread.php?threadid=6853)). It happens when you have fake servers in your server list.

As a workaround:
Make sure that the follwing options are deactivated (in Preferences->Server): "Auto-update serverlist at startup", "Update serverlist when connecting to a server" and "Update serverlist when a client connects".
Then empty your server list and enter a couple servers from http://www.gruk.org/list.php. (for now razorback 2 and a few others should be fine)

In less than a week I will hopefully be able to post a new stable amule binary that can automatically import the gruk.org server list.

Reading Xaignars last post on that thread it isn't necessarily because of fake servers, but also a bug that has been in amule for quite some time (pre-2.0.0). This is resolved in CVS and will be fixed in the next stable version. But having a sane server list is always a good thing :)

Hi WWW :)
