Title: aMule 2.3.3 is messing with files that I have not shared (Downloads directory)
Post by: wdc on August 15, 2024, 12:52:57 PM
Hello,
amule/oldstable,now 1:2.3.3-1 amd64 on Debian Linux 11

Networks tab, aMule log area says:

Quote
2024-08-09 10:23:29: Downloaded part 1 is corrupt in file: Knamehere.avi

2024-08-09 23:55:49: CFile: Error when opening file (/home/user/Downloads/Hnamehere.pdf): No such file or directory
2024-08-09 23:55:49: Failed to open file (Hnamehere.pdf), removing from list of shared files.

2024-08-10 10:10:29: Downloaded part 0 is corrupt in file: Knamehere.avi

2024-08-11 17:49:00: CFile: Error when opening file (/home/user/Downloads/Enamehere.jpg): No such file or directory
2024-08-11 17:49:00: Failed to open file (Enamehere.jpg), removing from list of shared files.

this confused me, because I have not shared the directory that it mentions, so I have spent time browsing Preferences / Directories to find that I am not sharing that Downloads folder. I am only using it as a destination for my downloads. Yet at least some of the files that were mentioned in the log, were NOT downloaded using aMule and were relocated (outside of aMule) later by me. I think that the aMule should not be messing with these files and polluting the log with it..

Look inside your ./.aMule/amule.conf you will see them there 'TempDir' and 'IncomingDir'.
