You people are amazing indeed. There's already 657 people in frappr, and the comunity is indeed spread all over the world (tho still a big amount of them in europe).

Remember to add yourself to frappr HERE (http://www.frappr.com/amule)
[sarcasm mode on]
On a completely unrelated note, I would request you all users to please stop spying on xMule! I mean, we are evil and such, but we have been kindly requested to stop doing that:
--> r4c3Kar (n=Computer@HSE-Montreal-ppp137995.sympatico.ca) has joined #amule
--- r4c3Kar is now known as razberry
just wanted to let you jackasses know that some of your pricks come on #xmule and attempt to spy on us
just because we're better no need to fight
now tell your pussies to scram before i sleep with all your moms
chow
oh yeah
just remember
thieves lose
coders win :)
<-- razberry (n=Computer@HSE-Montreal-ppp137995.sympatico.ca) has left #amule
This gentleman have a point, we evil prick jackasses thieves should stop spying on #xmule. This has to stop. Do it for the sake of our moms.
Remember: everytime you spy, God kills a kitten. Spying makes baby jesus cry. Spying gives you hairy palms and makes you go blind. Etc, etc, etc.
Remember: we're about to release aMule 2.1.0! With new and improved EC (shamelessly stolen), Kad support (shamelessly stolen), and many other shamelessly stolen features, bugfixes, and random stuff! I can assure you the changelog will be huge, huge, huge... all stolen from a project that has nothing at all like that implemented!
[sarcasm mode off]

Well there is one thing we've stolen that used to be pretty unique to xmule: personal rants on the main page. :P
-
It's not *personal* dude, and it's not a rant. I'm pretty sure, as that guy came to a public channel, that he wanted to be read by at much people as possible! I'm just being nice to him.
-
Why steal code from xmule? Reinstall amule 1.2.x is much easier. :))
-
1.0.x you mean?
-
i'm so happy i'm an amule user and not one of this awful xmule-crowd :P
thanks anyway for this great programm (although it's just stolen...)

Current CVS is basically what will become the 2.1.0 release.
-
Kry, your sarcasm is priceless.. I promise I'll stop spying... :))

OK, I'd better said aMule-CVS-2005-10-22 eats memory up. Will check out today's CVS and report You. Thanks for Your work.

I understand perfectly this thread is [sarcasm on],but there is a point I don't understand (and I argue the xmule guy has not figured too) ....
Is Xmule an Opensource project?? The concept of "stolen" is quite unapplicable in such situation. I suppose that in OPensource projects "stole" is a good thing (the hearth/engine of advancements ).
-
It turns out you did understand it, fabtar. ;)
-
Well, copyright violations are possible in opensource projects ... and we all know that copyright violations are theft (thank you recording industri :P).
-
And aMule forked from xMule more than 2 years ago, got no more code from them, and hum, by the way, xMule is forked from lmule, which is forked/ported from eMule.... Go figure.

Yeah and emule wouldn't have existed if it wasn't for the eDonkey network, which of course got its inspration from that old-time first widely popular p2p program napster to begin with :p
-
That's different. We're talking about common codebase here, which is not what happened at all between edonkey and eMule, as edonkey is closed-source.
Is not like you can say xchat is based on bitchx because it was there before using irc... you get the point.
