Title: Search showing multiple filenames for same file?
Post by: vdb on December 03, 2005, 02:52:33 PM
Although I don't use the monolith usually I would like to know if it is possible to have the search window do the same trick as the windows client emule does: If there are multiple filenames for one and the same file it shows them all, see attached figure where I have searched for "other" (and then some).

And if it could be possible I would like to request something similar to the daemon, since it seems that this one does not show any filenames at all... Even for the downloads already in progress.

if you right click on the file and select view razorback 2 stats for this file you can see all the filename for that file on your browser, maybe it's not good like the tree view in emule but i don't know if it is possible to do that with amule without changing a lot of things :P

Hmm, I never got that part to work, tried it a few times but nothing shows up. Maybe a configuration issue with Firefox, but I haven't looked into this. Will try some this weekend.

You are right, I have fiddled around with the settings and now it works, I can receive Razorback stats. I do get a lot of small and annoying .aMulexyz files in my homedir though.

However, to rake up this old thread again: Since Kad takes over from ed2k more and more every day, the stats on the Razorback servers will be less accurate.

Therefore I would like to suggest this functionality for a future release: Whenever a search finds a file with equal hash+size but different name, put it under the first found filename with an expandable tree structure, so that users can easily see if the file in question might be a fake or something else. (Oh, and please make the daemon/GUI combination do this too  ;))
