I ve installed the packages as it said in the guide.... I am using slackware 10.2
Amule 2.0.3 i686.........tgz and wxgtk2.......tgz
run the command
#user@user1:Amule
at terminal and nothing poped up: I was expecting some window... Do I have to configure something else I ve runned it before on Suse
-
the command should be
amule, not Amule
also check if the binary really is in /usr/bin/ or /usr/local/bin/
if it is on either spot, try lunching it with ./amule
and see if that works
-
the bin is there an also amulecmd amuleweb but no it wont start
is there somewhere I can download an older version in tgz?? this tgz format is killing me I am looking for a "rpm to tgz" converter

I am looking for a "rpm to tgz" converter
Converter works as following:
1. Backup your data
2. Go to fedora.redhat.com
3. Download install images
4. Boot from disk #1.
5. Choose "Remove all Linix partition" in install menu
6. Proceed with install.

if u don´t want to follow lfroen´s suggestion, u can try this one:
--> http://www.kitenet.net/programs/alien/
cu

and still, it would be nice to have some debug output from console what it prints...to see what the error is

Just paste the messages you get when you type "amule" in a terminal
