Title: aMule completing
Post by: geearf on January 18, 2006, 11:14:03 PM
Hello,

I do have a little problem with aMule.

Whenever a file is in the completing state, my comp is really slow down, like if I'm watching some movies it will freeze a little every 5 seconds ...
I did not have that problem with eMule, and I think I did not have it with aMule either before, but I could be wrong there, cause I have been using it for less than a year, but only a little this time.

So if you have any info on this, like toying with buffers or else, I'll be glad, thanks.

PS : I am running aMule on a AMD Athlon XP 1800+ @ 1.7 GHz, 512 RAM, 7200 PATA 80GO, Ubuntu.

Thanks

the completing state means that the file will get hashed in the end, and checked by amule if everything went well while downloading.

this is pretty cpu and hdd consuming to perform this hash, so its pretty normal that a movie might hang a little while playback.

Hello,

thanks for the quick reply,
is there anyway to slow it down a little (I'm in no hurry for that) and ease the cpu / hdd consuming ?

Thanks
