Hello,
on normal connecting, I do not have a problem getting a high id. Downloads speed up fairly fast (if 10kb/s a file and 30kb/s all together is fast) and both arrows on the world in the bottom left corner are green.
However, if I let it run some time, the upper arrow (the one from the server??) becomes yellow and my download rates get down to 3kb/s at max. Do I understand it right, that i got a lowid from the server? Why? Did it happen after a reconnect? It is still the same server I connected to before.
What can I do about it? Restarting amule and reconnecting helps but I do not want to do this every hour. (I upload with 12kb/s)
Thanks a lot,
Greetings
Forgot to mention the server! It is Razorback2. I read of others having the same problems?
More general question: Does it matter to which server I am connected? Should it have many files or users? Would e.g. DonkeyServer No2 work as good as well or does it have the same lowid problems??
Thanks again!

The upper right arrow actually represents your Kad connection status and the lower left one your ed2k server connection status. So something seems to be going on with your Kad connections and not your ed2k server connections.
Say is it possible that you are running OS X 10.4.0, 10.4.1, or 10.4.2 (i.e. that you haven't updated 10.4 for a while)? I am asking this because there was an issue with earlier versions of 10.4 that looked very similar to what you are experiencing.

The particular server you are connected to mostly matters for your searches (if you are not doing global or kad searches).
If you are connected to a "big" server with lots of users you will also get a few more sources soon after you start a new file, but this does not matter much in the medium term.

I am running 10.4.4 and have this problem - worked fine with earlier MAC OS 10.4 versions

Error: TCP port 4662 is unavailable. Make sure your firewall or router is allowing/forwarding this TCP service port and your ED2K client is running (i.e. aMule, eMule).
Detailed Error Message
TCP Error 110 Connection refused
Explanation
The connection timed out, meaning the port is being blocked or incorrectly forwarded by a firewall or your computer is turned off :)

Wait, didn't you say in the other thread (http://forum.amule.org/thread.php?threadid=8978) that you are getting no downloads at all?
Also, silversurfer2025 wrote that he gets highID on the server connection and initially also for Kad, but then after some time Kad just craps out.
Btw, I have to retract my above statement somewhat. A number of people have reported Kad dropouts on both Mac and Linux (e.g., see here (http://forum.amule.org/thread.php?threadid=8604)). I have a feeling that that is what silversurfer2025 is seeing on his machine.

I can not get on KAD at all and overnet is painfully slow. Yes I did have another thread going and mixed where my replies were going. Still very slow today. But will monitor to see if it get better.
