Title: amuled cpu problem
Post by: errico2 on February 01, 2006, 11:52:22 AM
Hi all:
I am the amuled-cpu tester, i can be sure.........
Well. I used amuled 2.0.3, and it works perfect for me. The cpu utilization was about 8%.
But amuled 2.1.0 is released. And i can connect from my pc-windows to amuled-pc-linux. Oooh!. I have installed amule, compiled, and change wx..... :-(
But now I can see that amuled 2.1.0 uses a lot of more cpu than amuled 2.0.3. Now, the cpu utilization is about 36%.

As someone knows, I have a lot of connections and traffic, so I'm doing a huge test of amuled.

Anyone know where is the problem ?. If there is any problem.......

Thanks in advance, errico2.

Can you try to test how much CPU load drops if you disable Kad?

I think no. I have disabled Kad and cpu is high yet. I need more time to be sure, but i think kad is not the problem.

Is it possible that amuled use more cpu without kad ?
Now, without kad, amuled is using about 59% cpu.........

Title: 16 % cpu without kad

I compiled amule (2.1.0) to run amuled and amuleweb on a smaal homeserver, vereything works quite fine (Amule rules!), but I did indeed notice the heavy CPU usage in the frist, say, 24 hrs (average 50 to 60%, on a PII, not really a problem btw, as AMule is the main purpose of that box). Now my connection to the KAd network apparently died, and I observe that the CPU usage has dropped to average 15%.

So I see two possiblities: either the CPU has dropped because in the beginning Amule has to hash lots of files, and now it's done with that; OR indeed, like suggested, apparently KAD takes quite some CPU.

When I have fixe my KAD issue I can check wether the CPU has gone up again...
