My Mac is sharing the DSL connection to the internet though a wireless link from a USB modem connected to a Vaio WinXP desktop on the wired LAN. I can have internet access no problem by setting my Proxies in System Preferences: HTTP is 10.0.0.1 port 6588, ditto for HTTPS, FTP is 10.0.0.1 port 20; SOCKS is port 1080.
In aMule, I've gone to the Proxy section, checked the 'Enable Proxy' option, set Proxy Type to Socks4, Proxy host to 10.0.0.1, Proxy port to 1080. Here's what happens when it tries to connect to a server:
2006-02-24 10:30:54: Servers: Trying to connect
2006-02-24 10:30:54: Connecting to Byte Devils (194.213.0.20 - 194.213.0.20:25)
2006-02-24 10:30:57: Connected to Byte Devils (194.213.0.20:3306)
2006-02-24 10:31:19: Connection attempt to Byte Devils (194.213.0.20:3306) timed out.
2006-02-24 10:31:19: Failed to connect to all servers listed. Making another pass.
This keeps on to no avail. I've also tried with other Proxy Types, still no joy. Am I missing something?
Thanks, people.
PS My aMule used to work in my home connection, sharing the DSL modem through an AirPort Extreme Base Station. Right now I'm on holiday at a new location for a few days, hence the new setup. But I know that my aMuly *does* work normally.

Thanks! I just hadn't imagined that. I switched to a different server and I'm connected again. A bit low on resources, but still connected.
