When I load up aMule I get this error message:
"Cannot get the official hostname (error 2: No such file or directory)"
I have d/l'ed and copied a new server.met file and added it to my .aMule folder but it still keeps happening.
I also get this error when I just ignore the 1st one:
Failed to load server.met file '/home/lordg/.aMule/server.met.download', unknown format encountered

The first message is a minor issue and you can just ignore it. In CVS this message should no longer produce a dialog requiring your intervention, it will just be a message in the log. The hostname in question is not the server's, it's your computer's.
The second problem is due to the fact that gruk.org is no longer serving a server.met file. So, when aMule tries to download it, it gets an HTML page explaining that the server.met is unavailable instead of the actual server.met. Google for a different server.met URL and use that.

well ive added a new server.met url but I'm still getting the same unknown format error...
I have searched google using linux server.met url and the only one that comes up in english doesent work..

Don't be too specific in your search, just googleing for "server.met" should be enough ^^
http://ocbmaurice.dyns.net/pl/slist.pl?download/server-best.met <-- That's the new "official" server.met which is included in SVN and will be included in future versions (at least until it goes offline...)

i get a similar message:
Error: Cannot get the official hostname (error 0: Sucesso)
It didn't seem a problem to me. The problem is that I can't connect to any server. It only says: connection lost. I'm running fedora core 5. Anybody can help?
thks
