Title: Fixing the Serverproblem (cant find hostname) in aMule

Hallo da draussen:
an alle, die Probleme mit aMule haben, weil es nicht mehr mit den Servern verbindet:
(cant find hostname...)

Hier die Lösung:


1. "Terminal" aus den Dienstprogrammen starten
2. Mit "hostname" kann man rausfinden, welchen Hostnamen man hat
3. "sudo pico hostconfig" eingeben (Öffnet die Hostconfig)
4. Eventuell Passwort eingeben
5. Die Zeile "HOSTNAME=-AUTOMATIC-" ändern in "HOSTNAME=eingenername" (Falls diese Zeile noch nicht vorhanden ist, einfach anlegen...)
6. Speichern (Ctrl-O) und schließen (Ctrl-X)

7. "NetInfo Manager" aus den Dienstprogrammen starten
8. "machines" anklicken
9. "localhost" anklicken
10. Sicher gehen, dass das Sicherheitsschloss unten nicht geschlossen ist
11. "Apfel-D" eingeben um den localhost-Eintrag zu duplizieren
12. Den Eintrag "localhost Kopie" anklicken
13. Dann den Wert für das Feld 'name' im unteren Feld anwählen
14. Und hier den selben Namen eingeben wie in der "hostconfig" eingetragen wurde (wie in diesem Beispiel "eigenername")
15. Neustarten - Fertig.

Danach läuft eMule wieder 1A und der Hostname ist auch nicht mehr so ein komischer...

Bei mir hats funktioniert, gebe aber keine Garantie! (sollte aber immer gehen, glaube ich)

(Ich habs in einem englischen Thread gelesen, der nicht gleich bei mir funktionierte, ich habs hier so reingeschrieben, wie es bei mir ging, hoffe, ein paar Leuten damit weitergeholfen zu haben....)

hum is zwar macOS forum aber leider net englisch -> moved

wäre net wenn du es nochmal auf englisch schreiben könntest  :]

Hey there:
for all, who have problems with amule, because it cant connect:
(cant find official-hostname... / error 22)

Here is the way to fix it:


1. starting the application "Terminal"
2. by type "hostname" you can find out, whats your hostname
3. type "sudo pico hostconfig" (opens hostconfig)
4. you have to type your password eventually
5. change the line "HOSTNAME=-AUTOMATIC-" to "HOSTNAME=myname" (if this line isnt already there, just write it...)
6. save (Ctrl-O) and close (Ctrl-X)

7. starting the application "NetInfo Manager"
8. go to "machines"
9. go to "localhost"
10. make shure, that this window is not locked (in the left bottom)
11. type "apple-D" for duplicating the "localhost"-entry
12. klick on the "localhost copy" entry
13. then choose the value for the field 'name'
14. here you have to type in the name that you have choosen in the "hostconfig" (in this example: "myname")
15. restart... and it wil work!

after this, amule is working pretty well and your hostname is not automatic given by your router, etc...

it is working pretty well at my computer (but i wont to give a garuantee for it)

and i hope, ich could help some people with this thread
