server is under high load, cos I'm moving files from hda to hdb, vice versa
now I'm trying nohup and nice -n -20 to see if there is any differences

I've seen amuleweb become a zombie process simply by changing to quickly between tabs in my browser.

The only way to stop amuled then is to issue a standard kill (-15) - that does seem to shut it down properly, the process stays in D state while writing chunks to disk and then exits.
