Title: server issues
Post by: mniemierko on May 06, 2006, 06:42:37 PM
Hi,
I searched to see if this was posted and I couldn't find it; I hope I'm not reposting.

I tried to download the newest version of amule for Mac (I have a 10.4.6 Tiger) but stuffit wouldn't open it, so I download 2.1.0, which worked as far as unstuffing and opening. The problem is that it won't connect to any servers. When I try to download the server list I get this message:

Failed to load server.met file '/Users/Malvina/Library/Application Support/aMule/server.met.download', unknown format encountered.

I'm sort of new to this so I don't know what that means...any help? Does it matter that I'm using a wi-fi server?

Thanks!

First, try doing Open With -> BOMArchiveHelper to open the newest version of aMule.  That's the tool built into Mac OS X for handing .zip files.  StuffIt may be buggy.

If you still can't download a server.met, try copying the URL into your web browser and using that to download the server.met.  Then, move the downloaded server.met to ~/Library/Application Support/aMule and start aMule.

You can use the URL that's at the top of aMule's Networks screen, just above the server list.  Or, you can google for "server.met" and download one of the results.
