User-friendly search by hash (by file id)
« on: June 10, 2006, 11:19:03 PM »

Hi.

When a file is completely downloaded, it only appears in "shared files", which is normal, but there is not anymore menu "Show Details".
So, could you add a menu item in the context menu of "shared files" that make a search by file id with the "ed2k::" trick ? Or using web: http://tothbenedek.hu/ed2kstats/ed2k?hash= (just an example)

It's just because I'm lazy, and copy/paste the ed2k link is to much for me... well, and because there is no clue that this possibility exists in the gui. (don't know if it's really english... sorry)

The better would be to keep the Details menu even when files are downloaded, but I don't know if it's a good idea.

Why would you want to search the file? What new info would you get?

The only thing I want to do, is to be able to read comments and different file names associated to a downloaded file hash.
For now, the only way to do this is to do a search by file id...

That won't give you any comments.
