aMule/wx crashes with call stack.
« on: August 23, 2006, 02:13:07 PM »

Hi all,

aMule keeps crashing on me lately on my amd4. I think it happened when i tried to upgrade wxgtk to prevent another amuleweb related segfault (which didn't solve it), from 2.6.2-r1 to .2.6.3.2.

I started to get the bottom error in a graphical error message. Downgrading back to 2.6.2 didn't solve it, i still get it. When i click on ok, it crashes amule out.

Code: [Select]
ClientCreditsList.cpp(362): assert "false" failed.

Call stack:
[05] wxStackWalker::Walk(unsigned long)
[06] 0x2b18b1d0504a
[07] wxApp::OnAssert(char const*, int, char const*, char const*)
[08] 0x00439500
[09] wxOnAssert(char const*, int, char const*, char const*)

[11] 0x004447d4
[12] 0x00444b52
[13] 0x0047f365
[14] 0x004838e3
[15] 0x004be1bd
[16] wxAppConsole::HandleEvent(wxEvtHandler*, void (wxEvtHandler::*)(wxEvent&), wxEvent&) const
[17] wxEvtHandler::ProcessEventIfMatches(wxEventTableEntryBase const&, wxEvtHandler*, wxEvent&)
[18] wxEventHashTable::HandleEvent(wxEvent&, wxEvtHandler*)
[19] wxEvtHandler::ProcessEvent(wxEvent&)
[20] wxEvtHandler::ProcessPendingEvents()
[21] wxAppConsole::ProcessPendingEvents()

[24] 0x2b18b33737ed
[25] g_main_loop_run
Do you want to stop the program?
You can also choose [Cancel] to suppress further warnings.

Thanks.

aMule seems compiled without debug.

Hmm, on the contrary, i have debug enabled for both aMule and wxGTK
Code: [Select]
sempron ~ # emerge -avt amule

These are the packages that would be merged, in reverse order:

Calculating dependencies... done!
[ebuild   R   ] net-p2p/amule-2.1.3  USE="amuled debug gtk nls remote -stats -unicode" 0 kB

Code: [Select]
sempron ~ # emerge -avt wxGTK

These are the packages that would be merged, in reverse order:

Calculating dependencies... done!
[ebuild   R   ] x11-libs/wxGTK-2.6.2-r1  USE="X debug opengl sdl -doc -gnome -joystick -odbc -unicode" 0 kB

Code: [Select]
CFLAGS="-O2 -pipe -march=k8 -fomit-frame-pointer -ftracer -fweb -msse3 -falign-functions=64"I was told that -O2 --fomit-frame-pointer will not make a difference or block any debug output in amd64

here are some specs

An update to this thread,

I disabled fweb, and managed to get some results. They are located here.
