Minimize to Tray
« on: October 14, 2003, 01:48:08 AM »

Ok, I know there's a hide option in the system tray now, so you can hide amule, but it would be nice if you could minimize to tray via the actual minimize button on amule.  Either that or have a hide button somewhere on the amule gui.

Would it be possible to make the systray work in KDE
« Reply #2 on: November 24, 2003, 04:37:39 PM »

Minimize to systray doenst work in KDE. You get the systray icon but you still
have the window in the window list (taskbar).

It would be nice if the window for edonkey wasnt visible in the taskbar.

This is with KDE 1.3.4.

Best regards,

Toni

Yes, it works. Didnt read the first poster carefully enought,
sorry about that.

But I totally agree with the first poster. If you activate the
systray you should minimize to tray when presseing the minimize
button in the window bar.

I select "minimize to tray" and "run minimized".
Afterwas program FULLY disappeared from the screen (including tray area) :(
In the same time I could see that process is running !

How to unminimize the program (I use KDE) ?

hi,

close amule (killall amule), edit the .eMule file in your home dir -> set mintotray = 0 and save it,
launch amule, go to prefs/general -> systray integration -> your desktop -> ok, save ..

Thanks, it works perfectly !
I think that some icon shall be available System tray after such minimizing as I did.

By the way, I tried http://www.google.com/search?q=restore+hidden+windows+kde

there's no way to make an icon available after minimizing to tray with wrong desktop. The only way to fix it would be a EC request, so when you run another aMule the current one raises to focus. I'll implement it.
