« on: March 16, 2007, 07:45:19 PM »

Hi,
I'm new to aMule.
I just downloaded my first film and it took more than 3 days!
I have a very fast internet connection (TimeWarner - 8 MB in Download)
and I set the DL limit at 300 and the UL at 20
but the download won't go faster the 5 at the most!
can anyone help me?
Thanks!

---

now I've had Download at ZERO for the past two hours.......  :-[
please help!!!

wuischke: Still no reason to bump.

Read the wiki of aMule, look for "why is aMule slow?" and then raise your upload limit up to about 75-80% of your max upload capacity, since it seems to me a bit leecher having a download limit that is about 15 times the upload one.

Regards.

I have no idea about your bandwidths, you only say you have 8Mb/s (BTW: MB is different from Mb) but you tell nothing about your upload bandwidth (which is usually different from download bandwidth) so I have no idea what numbers should you use.

Based on these numbers, your maximum upload speed should be around 96kB/s, so I would use 75kB/s in aMule as upload limit. Let the download limitless, but do not expect aMule to fill your download bandwidth unless you download many really popular files...and even then, with sich a big difference in download speed VS upload speed, I would not hope downloads at full speed.

Regards.
