need help setting TCP and UDP ports
« on: May 19, 2007, 11:58:19 PM »

I am new to amule and not sure if I have it set up correctly.

I've gone thru Wiki to search for how to set this up and it leads me to a site where I can test the TCP port for use. I'm not sure what I should put in there, but I've been putting in random numbers from 4661 thru over 100000. Everything that I have tested says that it cannot be used.

I am using amule, and I am able to download files, but it seems that I am always connecting or in que. When I do download, it is at very slow speeds like 1kbps and occassionally I see it as high as 12kpbs.

Can someone please tell me how I'm supposed to set up the TCP and UDP ports?

And if anyone knows a way to improve the download speeds other than that way, I'd love the help.

Thanks!

As long as you have HighID, and kad status OK, (both world arrows green color) you're just fine. Also, there is no such thing as a port "over 100000". The highest possible port is 65535, so please don't exagerate on your reports. Also read the wiki more carefully, specially the part "aMule is slow".

Regards.
