KAD firewalled, then not running
« on: October 23, 2007, 03:08:39 PM »

No matter what nodes.dat address I put in my KAD it always says it is Firewalled for an hour or so and then goes directly to being disconnected or not running. I have had my amule for almost a year now and this has never happened. How can I fix it?

Thnaks.

I had a similar problem, though not sure it is the exact same. I forwarded the correct ports (including tcp+3) and got high ed2k ID, but Kad was only firewalled until it lost all the nodes.

Anyway, I'm using Ubuntu so I don't know how it applies to other Linux distributions. What I had to do was open the ports in the iptables. I followed this guide from the Ubuntu forums:

At least for Debian there should be a fair chance that the same proceudure will work. Good luck.
