How can I update to version 2.8.9  in Ubuntu 8.10?

I've followed the instruction to install wxGTK2 v2.8.9 but amule use always wxGTK2 v2.8.7
   
What can I check?

Unfortunately we cannot check the wxWidgets library version at run-time, so the wx-version is a compile-time value. That means, that if you updated wxWidgets after aMule has been compiled (not necessarily by you), the log won't reflect the change.
