KAD connection
« on: May 05, 2009, 12:26:51 PM »

Mine aMule 2.2.2 in Intrepid connects to KAD, but aMule Adunanza 3.14b3 in Jaunty doesn`t. Yet they share the same home folder (separate partition) and exactly the same set up [static IP, port forwarding etc.]. Why?
Can I fix it somehow? I realise, I can downgrade to previous version, but that would be the last resort.

aMule and aMule Adunanza are different products. Install the real aMule and everything works.

In this case we make an exception. It's not the users' fault Ubuntu bundled that dumb mod instead of aMule.  ::)

Use the Synaptic Package Manger to remove Adunanza and install aMule 2.2.4 instead. Adunanza has a different numbering, it' s not "newer" just because it has a higher number.

No we don't. We just tell them to install aMule.

I meant an exception from moving to the bin right away.  ;D

Oops_ I installed aMule from Add/Remove and there was only Adunanza. Sily me, if I used Synaptic instead I would have a choice and I wouldn`t ever choose a mod.
Why Add/Remove has only Adunanza mod? - Beats me!
THX for quick answer which solved my problem.
BTW I`m a newbie and i don`t know how (yet), but I`ll try to complain to Ubuntu.
