Using Linux and Windows Amules on the same data
« on: September 22, 2010, 09:31:56 PM »

Hi,

i had a crash with my computer and was able to transfer the data (Emule-Software) to an USB-storage-device. I have installed Linux Amule and it worked good to import the Emule-Data. I have a winodws-licence running on that notebook, too, and could install and run amule with the data from the linux-amule.

There was a great job of rehashing,  what can i do to avoid the job of rehashing when changing the OS from time to time?

M y windows-version is the 2.2.6, on Linux i use the version that comes with Ubuntu 10.04...

Thanks for your answers ...

Greetings

There will be no rehashing. Downloads are platform independent.
If you want to keep your credits also you have to also use the same config folder. For switching "from time to time" just copy everything over.

My feeling was that the newly completed files were not known by the other emule. And a copy of the config can be somehow bad, i have a disk on D:\ on the windows-system, this is on /media/Blablub/ on the linux-system.

I will try what i can copy and what not ... :)

Thanks a lot
