where is amuled
« on: February 23, 2005, 11:45:01 AM »

hello,

I'd like to use an old AMD K6 200 as linux amule server whith a web remote access.
I have installed a woody debian, and, modified my sources.list to update sarge. I could so install amule using apt-get install amule amule-utils.

I have two problems :

- firstly, I cannot find the daemon amuled (using a simple locate after of course an updatedb).

- secondly, I can remoly use amulecmd by ssh, I can use amuleweb that connect correcly whith amule, but when I use a browser to pilot amule, I receive a white page. I precise that I tried this localy (using netscape from my K6) or from a distant computer in the LAN...

is apt-get a successfull way to install amule ?
I am beginer about Linux. have I forgotten an important thing ?
thanks for your help.

You should be using rc8 at least, and wx-2.5.3 at least for daemon to work. I'm not sure if it's part of debian package.
There's 2 ways to have it:
First (hard way) - compile yourself from daily cvs snapshot, possibly wx too
Second (long way) - wait untill 2.0 public release which will contain match more stable daemon that rc8

in my case, I could'nt find it.

well, if I have to make a choice, I will try to compile amule...

philou33,

Compile it yourself. There are links with information, and you can always ask here too.

Get a tarball here:

Cheers!

Well, it may be both. Never checked. But since you didn't found it - most of chances it's not there.

Compile it yourself.

Please note that you must use wx-2.5.3 at least. This is absolutly must, 2.5.2 will not work.
