« on: April 07, 2005, 02:04:59 PM »

Hello
I'm lloking for amule 2.0.0rc8 GTK2 RPM for Fedora Core3, but all rpms I found were GTK1 compiled. Where I can get GTK2 compiled RPMs?

Thanks!

you cant....

if you want it , you would have to do it yourself.
but 1st you would have to compile wxGTk with gtk2 enabled!!

since amule will always use the gtk which wxGTK is linked against, so if you build wxGTk with gtk1, amule will have gtk1 and if you build wxGTK with gtk2 amule will have gtk2

Vertical,

Official rpm support for wx in FC3 is for wx-2.4.2, which does not work with gtk2. So, for the official support, you can only get aMule and gtk1. If you compile wx-2.5.5 then you can use gtk2. If you want a rpm, you can try reading this thread: http://www.amule.org/amule/thread.php?threadid=5452&sid=

Cheers!

I have wxgtk2 RPM packages installed. Also, I installed latest xmule RPM with GTK2, but it's very buggy. I think If I was able to install xmule GTK2 RPM, I'm also able to install such amule RPM..

well if you have already wxGTK2 rpms this should be no problem, check hte post from phoenix it tells ya howto build your own rpms.
pretty easy if you have all requirements.

well then of course it does not work ...

2.4.2 does not support gtk2, because it will leak mem even worse then 2.5.5 and it makes amule really unstable because of wxWidgets problems with gtk2

you have to get or compile yourself 2.5.5 with gtk2 support in, otherwise you cannot compile amule with gtk2,
amule will ALWAY use what wx is compiled with!!
