Hi Stefanero,

now it's disabled (see our other thread), but I think at the time of the backtrace it was still enabled.

Kind regards!

It seems to be running quite stable now, though I still get messages like:

CServerSocket: connection closed
CServerSocket: destroying socket 0x883bed0
CServerSocket: connection refused or timed out
ECSocket::ReadBufferFromSocket error No error happened

that could be for example a server in your server list which is not responding anymore, as long as you are connected and up/download work fine, I would not worry about it

ok, thank you, so I will ignore it.

You seem to know alot, maybe you could help me with another question? Everything works fine, exept doing a search after connecting via browser to amuleweb - I always get "access denied" while searching, all other modules in the browser are working.

Any clues?

hmm never seen anything like that, and I use amuleweb alot...

do you get it after you hit the search button? or when you refresh the results?
also is a webserver response or one from amuleweb itself?

btw: you have admin rights in webserver? there are 2 users in amuleweb, one admin and one guest

I get it after hitting the search-button or the ed2k://Download-button.

I don't know whether it's fromthe webserver or from amuleweb, I think from amuleweb, as it is printed in red letters on the webpage at top of the content-part of the website - if you like I can attach a screenshot.

Users: I have admin-rights as well, and I think I have given them the same passwords, maybe this is the problem, because only the password is requested, not the username as well? Can I set knew passwords? I think the password hash is in amule.conf, but how can I regenerate it?

well yes if admin and guess have the same pw, then off course from security reasons your logged on as guess. and so search and adding ed2k links dont work

to regenerate it, stop amuleweb and amuled and use md5sum like you did before, or to make it more easy just disable teh guesst user account and del the pw from the amule.conf file

Hm, in amule.conf I only find "Password" and "PasswordLow" in section "[WebServer]", and they have different strings. Furthermore there is "UseLowRightsUser=1" - should I only set this to 0 or do I have to do more to disable it?

If I do
Code: [Select]
echo mypassword |md5sum
I get not the string I find in amule.conf - could you tell me how to exactly generate the hash? I think I did it via amule under KDE, thus I don't know how to do it manually.

well password is the admin pass,
and passwordlow is hte guest password,

if you set
uselowrightsuser = 1  to 0 , this will disable the guess account, right.

to generate a pw do
$ echo -n yourpasswordhere | md5sum | cut -d ' ' -f 1

we also have a nice wiki about this on http://wiki.amule.org ;)

but make sure, when you change soemthing in the amule.conf file, that you stop amule(d) before that, otherwise it gets reset on close!

have fun

ok, I'll try this - good to know that amuled resets the amule.conf, I didn't know that and had already changed it!

Thanks so much!
