Upload speed problem
« on: September 21, 2005, 12:19:25 PM »

Having happily used Amule for several months with no problems I now find that my uploads have suddenly gone down from my average 28Kb/s to around 2Kb/s, with very occasional peaks above this. Downloads are the same as always and unaffected. I've checked all my settings and nothing seems to correct this. Occasionally, resetting UL/DL speeds will cause a return to normal behaviour but this doesn't last long. It doesn't seem to be a firewall, router or ISP problem. Is it just a bug in the program?

well nope, its not a bug in the programm, since noone else else reported upload problems, and for example I dont have them aswell...

have you tryed changing ports for aMule?! many ISP start to block ed2k traffic for the standart ports...so maybe try to adjust that...

As far as I can tell, this began out of the blue without having changed anything. What I did do was reinstall the program from scratch (with my old settings and files) but the same upload problem crops up. I really don't know where to even start looking for the problem. It's not a question of pòrts or my ISP. I've double-checked that and, besides, I never use standard ports.

Are you running something relatively CPU-intensive at the same time? That often knocks down the upload on my slower home machine.

Sometimes, even without much CPU load, my upload goes down to 10-20k/s (from 42k/s). I haven't figured out the reason for this yet, but this usually only lasts for a maximum of 20min (most of the time it's just a minute or two).

No, none of these. It does pretty much the same thing, no matter what else I'm doing on the CPU. The upload behaviour remains erratic, with occasional peaks but generally remaining below 3kB/s when it used to run constantly at 28kB/s.

I'm experiencing the same problem. Can't say exactly when it started ('cos I often leave my computer alone downloading...) but I guess about 2-3 weeks. I don't know if amule 2.0.2 had this problem: I'll try to re-install 2.0.2 and testing it.
