false download speed reporting
« on: January 21, 2006, 05:18:15 PM »

hi. i'm using amuled cvs from a repository at
http://koti.mbnet.fi/~ots/ubuntu/
which is the same as
http://ftp://cipherfunk.org/pub/packages/ubuntu/ breezy main

on my ubuntu 5.10 server box i have amuled & amulecmd
on my ubuntu 5.10 desk machine i use amulegui.
they are all from the same repository, updated regularly.

recent cvs versions (last two to three months) introduced the following problem for me:
whether i use amulecmd through ssh, or amulegui, the reported overall download does not match the sum of single downloads, but is always a lot less.

for example: the 'status' command (in amulecmd) gives me:
Download:    2.73 kB/s
but, a fraction of time later, with 'show dl' i get:
[xxxxxx] foo.zip  [4.1%] 2/95 - Downloading 14.02 kB/s
or, let's say, two files, each doing 7 kB/s.
same thing with amulegui reports (and they are shown simultaneously, in one gui)

at the same time, my amule.conf contains:
MaxDownload=12

so: which information is more accurate?
i can't estimate, but it seems to me like my downloads are going slower than before, when i had status showing 12 kB/s constantly.....

thanks
