Hi, Ive tried various server met files, and have just spent a couple of hours trying alternative options in my firewall settings, but still the damn thing is not having any of it (I cant see anything that would logically affect why Amule wont connect).

Ive just downloaded eDonkey (which oddly enough worked straight away) - so Im happy now, I have an application that performs the task - shame, I preferred Amule - but spent far too long on it now, so I think I'll stick with eDonkey.

The connection timed out, meaning the port is being blocked or incorrectly forwarded by a firewall or your computer is turned off :)
So, this is the problem, your aMule is unreachable.

No, you don' t have to try the other suggestion, you have to fix the first problem. From your next messages, I see you installed eDonkey and it worked. I believe your TCP port is in a non-standard port number. A quick look at the console log would tell you the right value.
