Songbird open source mediaplayer in Amule
« on: December 09, 2006, 11:16:27 AM »

maybe as well a suggestion for amule to add the deamon to songbird ?

then we can have a box in which a ed2k hash is inserted, and all in the background the file is donwloaded into the library.

Furthermore a ed2k hash could be sent to buddies (cspace), and then it is downloaded into the library...

as well private filetransfer to buddies is possible...

Make a new gui !!

thanks

Suggestions for Open Source Media Player (better than winamp)
http://www.songbirdnest.com/

1. In the library right Mouseclick on any song please add the command:
- hash a magnet-link
- hash a e-link

Definitions: see http://www.shareaza.com or http://magnet-uri.sourceforge.net/ or http://sourceforge.net/projects/magnethandler

magnet:?xt=urn:bitprint:KMJTNTPBXBC2JVHIFJASQ34E3U4STV3J.7OL6HS2GQ56GBYEVREHWSQUE7ZJSTHWW6OL25UY
&xt=urn:ed2khash:3c1f42809b349ed7347fc1697a9c8d15
&dn=Van%20McCoy%20-%20Do%20The%20Hustle.mp3
&xl=3345520

Be sure, that the magnet link by defaults contains as well the ed2k-hash

For the edonkey-link-hash:

ed2k://|file|Van%20McCoy%20-%20Do%20The%20Hustle.mp3|3345520|3c1f42809b349ed7347fc1697a9c8d15|/

Maybe add the SHA1 and MD4/5 hash as well in the rows of the library, like the filename.

This is just for information to outcopy.

2. Please add in the medialplayer a friendslist or buddylist.

There is a worldwide first open source and serverless instant messenger out, which is http://cspace.in.
We can add buddies in the left sidebar menue at the bottom to have all our buddies online.
By dropping a musikfile from the library to the buddy, the file should be transferred to the buddy.

The Instant messenger is serverless, open source and written in Python.

The registering ist done over two ways: the RSA-Key and the CSpace ID.
The Cspace ID is done centrally over the CSpace server. this has to been changed, so that only the decentral RSA.Key is created, this is according to the development of the CSpace developers, they suggested themselves to make the  RSA-Key-Recation process decentral and without the need of servers as well.

So this would perfectly fit for Songbird,
Can you provide this please.. I would be very comfortably, or in a first step the ed2k link then could be transferred, instead of the full file.

Thanks a lot for a further implementation

3. We need to register a Project a Sforceforge.net for the songbird, to have it independent from a website and a country.

Thanks a lot!

Make _you_ a new gui! ;)

aMule is a *filesharing application* and the developers are busy enough coding the *filesharing application* aMule. They provide you with all what is needed to do what you suggested: The easy to use 'External Connection' to control aMule(d) from whatever gui you want or even more easy to use amulecmd.

I think this is a great idea! Maybe we can also incorporate the gimp and open office. I just really hate how aMule does not even contain the most basic image editing or word processing features.

And why can't we invent a new scripting language for the webserver, it has just to be easier to learn than php and html and maybe it can combine the best of all scripting languages aviable.

well it was a serious request, as the next songbird will have ed2k links and magnet links (Sha1) in the library to outcopy.
It would be easy, to have a checkbox in songbird, to share the file of the songbird library as well in amule.
so amule could be a deamon running in the background nad ocver a XUL extension there could be a horizontal toolbar to insert ed2k links, which then download in a total hidden proces sin the library, the toolbar then jus tneeds to adjust some bandwith and indicate up and down bandwith.

that´s it.

would that be possible to make a firefox extension of the amuel deamon to insert ed2k links, click paste and go and then the file is downloaded into a sprecified folder?

this xul extension shoudl work for firefox as well as for songbird.

As opera has already torrent support, this woudl be a third step to ahve this as ell in firefox and songbird to download..

See.. songbird is a downloadtool for mp3 in webpages, why not the same for torrents from a torrentboard, just drag and drop the torrent file into the library and amule downloads it..

so.. gui should be XUL extension for songbird and the deamon needs torrent support

Along the others, there was a serious answer.

There is nothing aMule has to do. aMule already provides everything you need for your idea, it's about _you_ to use it.

You can already add downloads, share files, regulate the speed and so on using amuled in combination with amulecmd or direct control over ec.

The things  you want _are_ possible, but the aMule developers won't do it - you or the songbird guys have to do it.

But: aMule won't support torrents. Forget this idea and use bittorrent for this job, not aMule.

Kry wasn't talking about 'torrent' when he said mythical creature...

As stated in the 'Features not to request'-thread I'll close this one, because it requests a feature not to request.

Everything about the topic was said already anyway and who didn't understand should try again.
