aMule Rehashes renamed video files.
« on: July 20, 2007, 04:16:05 AM »

Eventually, I always rename my downloaded video files in the format of something like this,

"Not mentioning of copyrighted stuf in these forums"  from whatever goofy format it is when it gets downloaded.

Once I do that, my ed2k client re-hashes the file!
IS there a way to prevent aMule from rehashing this file???  I think its stupid that there is a separate hash made for my file just because it has been renamed.  Technically it's still shared, but no one will really utilize it.

aMule rehashes it because when you rename it, it cannot be sure if it is (or not) a new file, so to be sure it is rehashed. If you dislike that, then rename it while it is still downloading (right-click over the file -> show file details. Then rename it, Apply and OK).

Regards.
