amule without the ui
« on: August 08, 2007, 07:26:36 PM »

I mainly use amule with the web function so if I could ditch the gui from it and just run it as a core with the amuleweb then I would be more than happy :)
Dunno if that is an option to add.

Hi Hakker,

This is already implemented for a couple of years. ;) The daemon version of aMule is called amuled and you'll find more information in the wiki page about amuled.

but the controllers (remote gui, webinterface, clc) lack important features, some relative to the security (i.e. there is not way to check how sources have renamed the file they are sharing and so to determine if a file found through the search on kad/servers is a fake or is the real file we are searching for)

That's a different point, but you are right. There are still features missing (and some won't be included) in the remote clients.

If you would like some specific feature supported in webinterface, please feel free to ask. I'm implementing it on FCFS basis (First Come First Served). Which means, that if something isn't supported, it may be because nobody asked.
