No search results in aMule...
« on: July 15, 2009, 12:12:50 AM »

Hi aMule users!

I just installed aMule (2.2.5 for Mac) and followed the tips on link.
I don't know why, but I'm having a lot of trouble with searching stuff... for some reason, popular words like "doors" or "beatles" show no results... :(
Any idea what the problem could be?

If you need any more info please let me know... I have no idea what could be relevant.
Thanks for your help.

Do you search by KAD or eD2k network?

you connect to eD2k server...?

Do you have the right ports opened?

You read this?

I use eD2k network, I am connected to a server and I have forwarded the right ports. :)
I have done the procedure on the link you gave me and it seems to have solved my problem. Atleast I get a few results...
Thank you so much for such a fast and easy solution.

You should have in mind that Kad is better than eD2k at least for now, because there are more fake eD2k servers.

I have never used Kad... I guess I should learn what it is and how to use it.
Thanks for the advice Festor! :)

Just open your UDP port if you haven't already, and enable Kad. Wait until it says "connected", then use "Kad search". That should do for a start.  ;)

My UDP port is already open but I can't seem to understand how to enable and connect Kad...
I've tried searching but with no luck... perhaps because this is such an easy thing that it hasn't been "tutorialized". I must be blind... :(

Thanks for your help. :)

You should just check the little world icon in the lower right corner of aMule. The right-upper arrow of the world displays the kad status: red is disconnected, yellow is connected but didn't detected incoming connections (firewalled) and green is OK.

Regards.
