Hi,
I just installed amule (from sources! after trying the stock one) on my debian-lenny server.

I opened the relevant ports on my router and testport says:

Success The TCP port 52706 is available. You should be able to use the ED2K P2P service without any problems.

... which looks good  ;)

Unfortunately amule says:

2010-07-31 18:46:11: ServerSocket.cpp(419): WARNING: You have received Low-ID!
2010-07-31 18:46:11: ServerSocket.cpp(420):    Most likely this is because you're behind a firewall or router.
2010-07-31 18:46:11: ServerSocket.cpp(421):    For more information, please refer to http://wiki.amule.org

... which does not look good  :'(

What should I check?

P.S.: Before You ask: Yes, I tried also with the standard port.

This will make sure you have a valid server list and security configuration.

I followed the guide.
I was using ocbmaurice serverlist.

Anyways, quite unsurprisingy, nothing changed.

I strongly suspect this is a routing problem on Debian.

Can someone help me to debug thi?

FYI: This really seems to be a debian/aMule problem.
Same setup under win/eMule gives a Hi-ID.

Again: I'm willing to help debug this, but I don't know what to do (beside ditching aMule, of course).

UPDATE:
On the exact same machine (debian/lenny) eMule, launched via Wine gets a Hi-ID
This definitely seems to be a aMule problem.

Should I file a bug-report somewhere or what?

What is your Kad status ? If you haven't enabled it, do it.
Can you try a different port (something from the range 5000-6000) ?
What version of aMule? What version of wxWidgets?

Kad status: firewalled.

My current port range is 52706-52709 (working with eMule/Wine), but I tried also something different (~7000) with same results. If You want me to try specific ports just ask.

As stated before: Your page at "http://www.amule.org/testport.php?tcpport=52706" reports:

... but that is not true :( I don't know how to test extended UDP ports.

aMule is latest from sources:  aMule 2.2.6.

wxWidgets is latest from debian/lenny: libwxbase2.8-dev (= 2.8.7.1-1.1+lenny1)

I am not convinced, since it's working on my side under Xubuntu, which is also debian based.
Of course it has to be investigated to solve these kind of problems once and for all.

I am available, If You like, to do any test You want on my side.
I switched to eMule/Wine for my scarce needs, but I am curious enough to be willing to invest some of my time to help debug this.
All checks that came to mind have already been done (iptables, pingtest, ...).

Please remove this ancient version and build current wxWidgets (which is 2.8.11) from source. No idea what kind of bugs might be lurking in 2.8.7.

Yeah, they released 2.8.11 only to annoy Debian packagers.  ::)

I agree that 2.8.10 is probably ok, but I won't look into problems with a 2.8.7 build.

If you make use of DHCP, make sure that the IP you get(!) is actually the one in the router's packet forwaring rules.
