10390 - upnp not working
« on: November 28, 2010, 04:30:15 AM »

(Ubuntu Meerkat x64)

It looks like upnp has been broken somewhere between 10396 and 10390.

I was initially inclined to blame the router as upnp goes flakey after a  few weeks of uptime but its gui is showing other problems are able to setup port forwarding while amule isn't.

No idea where to even start looking as yet...

There's no 10396 yet. So which was the last working UPnP version? And - is it still working if you switch back to it? Even if you rebuild it with your current environment?
There was no change regarding UPnP for a long time. Of course something can have got broken though, but I rather suspect something with your router or build environment.

Oops..... I meant 10386

I've got a Netgear DG634PN with DGteam firmware 1018 on it. Upnp has always been a problem (requires several restarts after reboot and failed after a few weeks) but up to now, once going everything's chatted to it fine.

Right now Skype, Deluge and Pidgin are happily talking to it - but unlike Amule they never require restarting after upnp is restarted - they just pick up the adverts and reestablish the tunnels.

Maybe your upnp libs have been updated.

The upnp libs are stable. 10386 works.

Speaking of upnp updates though, it would be "very useful" if libupnp4 was supported....
