can't write to file descriptor.....
« on: July 05, 2004, 07:04:08 AM »

I know that many people have asked you about this problem, including me. But, I was not able to read a solution.. Maybe there is not any.

Up to today I thought that this message is because there is not enough space in the hdd. But, no this is not the case. I have 900MB free on  the partition (fat 32) where Incoming and Temp folders reside and I am getting this error.

Anyway, the most annoying thing is not the message, but that the system and particularly amule are unresponsive before this message appears. Somehow, the CPU usage goes to 100%, I see the message and then it goes back to 10%...

Any idea, why I see this?
Thank you

Try it ;-)
Also, are your Temp and Incoming folder in the same directory? If so, place them in separate places.
Greetings!

Well, when I posted my question it was night here and i went to bed. In the morning, I saw the message, but after I clicked OK I have not seen it again. During the night one file was finished.
The name of that file is normal, no spaces or funny symbols. Plain letters.

If I see this problem again I will answer here your question

Last night I added a file on the download list. Because I did not have a lot of free space on the hdd (about 100MB) I started seeing the messages.
In the morning I freed some space up, but it did not help. When I paused the file that I had added on the list, it stopped giving me the messages.
I closed amule, and I also restarted X, and when I logged in again. I started amule and I resumed the download of the file, without getting any message. When, the hdd run out of space, the download simple stopped.

I do not know if all these make any sense to you. They do not to me..... And is very weird that you do not get these messages. BTW, are these messages created by amule or by the program(s) that amule uses?
