low download after changing hd-slice
« on: August 31, 2004, 12:38:25 AM »

hi,

i have lot of problems to get my amule running on a freebsd 5x box.
i have installed my amule and everything works fine and i also have good download results.
after a while i must use a new harddisk (no more space left ;) ) so i changed my Incoming and temp direction to the new slice , i copied all files which was in temp stored, no problem amule runs but my download not even more......

is there any known problems about changing the slices???????

thanx for help.......

hmmm ... need more data  ;)

Could you put "good download results" and "but my download not even more......" into figures or at least %ages? Or do you mean, that after the switch you have no downloads?

If you have no downloads:

- Check if the config files point to the right directories. In doubt do so with the ~/.emule.
- Check the rights you have on the new directories. See if you can change into the correct path and even create files there (for example "touch testit"). Do this in the incoming and the temp drive
- Check if you have kept write rights for the existing *part* files

Otherwise describes your probs a bit more!

hi fukinagashi,

tanx for your help.......

after i changed my Incoming and temp direcotrie to the new slice, my download rate goes down (from ~29kb auf ~6kb).

the rights on the hd are r and w.
it concerns me a bit but i think maybe it happens because i changed my max .hardlimit and connection limit, but it makes no diffrence between low hardlimits/low max connection and high  hardlimits/high max connection

-----> i have a very bad download stream

my amule runs maybe 4 or 5 days without stopping, and i get no more download. hmmmmmmm  that sucks

you ahve talken about config files, ichecked the .eMule file but i cant find more config files, are there anymore?????

or can you tell me witch config is the best for hardlimit and max.connections???

bye
