"Error 7"
« on: November 05, 2004, 01:09:59 PM »

Hi, folks,

I am trying aMule again, in spite of the fact that it still slows down a lot my internet connection in a way that some sites cannot even be opened (still any clue on that??). By the way, I have changed one of the core options to Verbose. Now I notice in the Server window two messages scrolling down EVERY time. My messages appear in Portuguese, so I'll translate them but they may not appear exactly like you have originally implemented them:

05-11-2004 10:14:31: Client 'X' (IP:82.252.218.87) caused an error: 7. Desconnecting client!
05-11-2004 10:14:31: Not sending SecIdentState Packet, because State is Zero

These messages appear NON-STOP one after the other all the time. I have searched for information about this error code but could not find anything. What exactly does it mean? Is there anything related with the "slow network" effect?

Thanks and best regards,

Fabricio

It's not a bug in aMule, but a (possible) bug in other clients.
Disabling what deltaHF told you will stop those messages from being displayed, so you won't be annoyed with them anymore :)
Greetings!

Hey, folks.... I know what verbose means, and I suppose that the verbose option is there for helping the developers and user to understand what´s going on. That´s why I turned it on and so far it is not really the lot of messages which is annoying me. I just don´t think it is normal to have one error message PER SECOND, it means, there is something going wrong with aMule ALL THE TIME. Is the whole world using buggy clients and trying to connect to my sole-correct client?? And what exactly is the "error 7"?

"Argument list too long"? Well, maybe. Who did implement this "error 7" string in aMule?

Error 7 is SOCKET_WOULD_BLOCK and it's absolutely normal. Either lower your connections/5 sec or just ignore it disabling verbose, because there's no point on paying attention to it.
