Low I.D.
« on: March 13, 2005, 04:45:57 PM »

Hello everyone
I've just set up aMule on my iBook but unfortunately I am given a low I.D.

I'm using a  Wireless Netgear DG834G Router and I've been told I need to open specific ports...I'm not very technically minded and I am now stuck.

Could someone advise me?

Many thanks

well in your router there is a section probably called something like

"virtual servers" or Nat

in those sections you can setup routing rules.

so have a look at your ipaddress of your ibook

then setup a routing rule, for the ipaddress of the ibook and the amule ports

those are most oftern
4662 tcp
4672 udp
4665 udp

that should do teh trick for the highID, if you are confused about this routing, have a look at your manual.
there are most often examples about this virtual server stuff / NAT, those examples are most often done with webservers which use port 80

I got this link by searching forum.emule-project.net: http://www.portforward.com/netgear/dg834g.htm.  I hope it helps.
