ubuntu breezy newbie connect fine no downloads...
« on: October 06, 2005, 11:50:46 PM »

I am new to linux and amule... been using emule for years though.

I have gotten amule 2.0.3 installed on a fresh install of ubutu breezy. I am using non-standard ports in amule. I have port fowarded my ports to the box from my smoothwall firewall.

Non standard ports forwareded are...
TCP 4683
UDP 4686
UDP 4673

I can connect to the server just fine, and get a high id, but nothing gets downloaded or uploaded. I have files in my incomming folder to share, and even done the reload on the share page, it generates the hash. I have added a couple of files I found on shareprovided that I know are "popular" but still nothing gets uploaded or downloaded.

I see the sources... I see they are available, and know people want the files I have to share... I am on dsl and used my actual download spped of 275 and upload of 56 kBps as my max for the graphs, and set the max to use as 70 and 16 kBps.. still nothing comes or goes.

Any ideas?

Just a experimental proposition: Set your UDP-Port to 4693.
Then: To which server are you connected? Are there any sources in the list of known sources? Could you try CVS?

Works, but, amule won't upload files downloaded by emule...

This might be an issue with hash code building or something...

My set up... I have a windows xp pro "file server" with a folder shared that I keep my emule downloads in. I have 20 or so files in there that on emule and windows have people connecting and downloading.

I stopped emule on the xp box.

I now have a ubuntu breezy box, and connect with samba to the shared drive, and use that as my amule "incomming" spot.

In amule, I see the shared files in the list, and it builds the hash code, but nobody gets those files.

I found some files to download, and sure enough those files come down, and I am uploading too, just fine.

But none of the files downloaded with xp and emule get uploaded with ubuntu and amule?

Other than that it is working just fine, High id's and good speed.
