My first assumption was that it was more related to the disconnection / reconnection sequences to ED2K servers that I am experiencing these days (an ISP problem I think). The more I get disconnected / reconnected the more it crashes.

So I turned off ED2K (running only on Kad). I got no crash in several hours.

Of course this could be somebody on the ED2K network that was messaging me, so I just turned ED2K back on and filtered out all the messages, wait and see...

Alrighty, aMule did pass the night without a crash with ED2K enabled, all messages filtered, despite a few server connexion / disconnexion. So it might very well be that reconnecting to a server actually triggered a reconnexion to a client which was sending one of these automatic spam messages. For the record, my previous message filtering settings were to filter on 'HyperMule'.

I do hope all this will be helpful to the devs.

Cheers

I get the same crash with a build from 2008-06-16. I disabled tray icons in aMule settings and even removed system tray from kicker but aMule still crashes quite often.

Those two don't compute.

Well this way I tried to make it so that I could see if system tray had any effect on this crash. I hoped that disabling system tray in aMule would make it so that the code for system tray would not be used. And by removing the system tray from kicker I well made it so that system tray isn't there and by this I hope it is not runing and therefore it cant cause crashes in aMule.
