amule SVN 10390 random crashes
« on: December 03, 2010, 04:39:45 AM »

Hello, I have amule SVN (10390) crashing at random times on a up-to-date archLinux system (64 bits). No user-related process is running and nothing's happening at the time this happens, I'm usually afk.

I did a backtrace:

Does it always crash in the same place?
Can you check if memory usage is continuously raising until memory is exhausted?

How can I see if it's crashing in the same place? Some of the first adresses are the same, is that it?
Here's another bt I did:

The mem usage seems to be normal, but I'm still verifying that.

Nope, I observed "live" one of these crash and the memory usage is absolutely regular.

Hmm.
- second bt is different
- not related to the current memory exhaustion problem
- malfunction in the network code
- I can't remember another crash of this kind

I guess something is wrong with your wxWidgets or your networking libs. What wx version? Did you compile aMule yourself? Did you compile wx yourself? Do you maybe have several conflicting wx libs in your system?

wx version is 2.8.11. I have installed Arch's packages of amule and wxgtk. I also tried compiling myself these two but amule keeps crashing. I made sure that 2.8.11 is the only version on my system.
Now I'll try amuled + amulegui as a workaround for this problem...
