aMule 2.1.3 in Ubuntu 7.04 (Feisty): memory leak
« on: April 24, 2007, 08:55:12 AM »

This is not going to be a very specific bug report.

I have just changed from Ubuntu 6.06 to Feisty Fawn 7.04, and I noticed a very big difference between the aMule versions in the two different Ubuntus.

In 6.06 aMule 2.1.0 is the official package. It was as stable as stable can be. It never crashed or ate up all my memory no matter how long I kept it running.

However the aMule in Feisty (2.1.3) just sucks. It gradually needs more and more memory and after three day usage, it just crashed (all I did was maximize the window from taskbar and it crashed). So I guess there's at least a memory leak somewhere.

Can you recommend me a stable aMule release?
Should I change back to 2.1.0?

I would recommend compiling your own aMule from current CVS versions (http://amule.hirnriss.net). It's stable for me. Also using the latest wxGTK (2.8.3 as of now) will help.

Regards.
